It was not an accident for my company to investigate a possible technology to treat the oil sand waste water, or tailings since 2011. we found that the to clear tailing containing an average over 100 ppm naphthanic acids. When such water seeped through the ponds daily to the local river streams, in a long term, the residual dangerous chemicals will pollute all the river banks and plants and crops that use such water. Surely, the water analysis might not show a significant level of increasing of such chemicals, yet, they have been there since the day one of seeping or flood spill over or accidental release. did all these happen?
why the local government try hard to cover up such poisonous water leakage or pollution or the danger to indigenous people? Greed for the tax on the profit of those oil sand company is an undeniable hook. if it is proved and exposed in the legal court system, all those related or worked officials shall be charged for those women or men died from increasing cancers in recent decays. It is a murder. It is a schemed killing. It is a dare bit of evil deeds under the sunlight. Canadians, we shall stand against such evil gains and practices. we shall hold them accountable for what they have done.
Furthermore, when we looked into the mature fine tailing (MFT) that the oil sand company used to build reclaimed wet lands, it was more terrifying as the residual of the bitumen leached out from the MFT, the content of harmful organics increased 3 to 5 times, over 130 ppms after 30 minutes peroxide treatment. In our nature, peroxide is produced in water surface under sunlight spontaneously. If not over months, but over years, the leaching of such harmful chemicals will cause tremendous harm to the local environment. they must be treated before being used for reclamation. although some plants or grass grow, but the chemicals are there in the water. The plants growing in poisonous water is well-known science under many situations. Yet, a purposeful leaching such chemicals over time to the local river, water streams is very dangerous and unethical and immoral without a public expose of such information to the local residents and to the Canadian people at large.
Please protect our earth by taking action to against such terrible business practice. if the oil sand companies cannot provide a safe solution to treat their tailing, they should not be allowed to conduct their business in oil sands. If they cannot keep the pollution out from the local water streams and underground waters, they shall not be allowed to take water or inject the dirty water back to the underground. It is unethical to do harmful business like such without consideration of our future environment and water resources.
Last week, Jane Fonda visited the oil sand area. She shall read this article to know more. with more scientific knowledge of the pollution of the tailings, she can make a bolder movement to help the people who are hurt and damaged.
